Congratulations must go to all the runners who turned out on Sunday. Not only was it a great turnout, but more importantly it was one of Halstead's best performances for years!
The absence of John on race day, together with some stellar performances across the field from others mean that it's all to play for in the men's handicap.
In the women's handicap a great run by Peri saw here smash her target position and leap frog to the top of the leaderboard. Will she be caught in the final race?
Remember that the last race is mere weeks away, and you have to be in it to win it!

On Sunday Halstead Road Runners travelled to the Ipswich cross country hosted by running club Ipswich JAFFA. This was the fifth race in the Winter cross country series sponsored by 53-12 of Colchester
The Junior course was short, flat and muddy and combined with the cold weather it was going to be a fast race. The young squad proved that once again they were the ones to beat. Winning three out of the six age categories and the top three runners placed in the top 10. The Junior team currently lie in first position in the league with only one more race to go!

Halstead Road Runner Juniors are continuing their success after winning the 4th race of the 53-12 Cross Country League in Hadleigh.
Leading the Halstead team home was Luke Allen in his first race since a foot injury which he sustained before Christmas. Allen had a super race and was hot on the heels of Suffolk County Champion Alex Baxter but did not quite have the distance to catch him on the final straight but settled for a well earned second position.
Following a great run at the Essex County Champs last weekend Emma Lovegrove continued her good form to finish next for Halstead in a very credible 3rd position. Young Freddie Trevanion continues to impress with a strong run to finish 8th. Both Emma and Freddie are currently first girl and boy in the league with 5 points each.
Tom Baslingdon, Henry Trevanion, Vicky Lovegrove and Hayden Challis continue to run well with other good performances from Matthew Allen, Kinza Lewis, Katie Armitage, Samuel Jones, Charlotte Armitage and Brook Greatorex. Mention must also go to Kathryn Lawrence in her cross country debut for Halstead.

In a field of over 100 experienced fell runners and with a climb of over 2000 feet ahead, Allen worked hard and paced himself well to finish in an amazing 8th position.
Closer to home Allen also competed in the Essex County Championships in Basildon, the 12k course saw some of the best athletes in the county, Allen again raced well in a field of over 170 athletes to finish in 34th position. Allen competed for Braintree AC.
